I would like to thank you for the grant that I received via the Jack Bloor fund. This money enabled me to participate in the English Schools Fell Running Championships held in Cockermouth and the Home Internationals for Mountain Running at Llanberis.

The race at Llanberis was amazing an experience, despite my disappointing result. I had had a bad chest infection, which prevented me from training for the two weeks prior to the event. During the race I was still suffering and couldn't perform to the best of my ability. However, I was pleased to finish the race and be part of the gold medal winning team. It was amazing to represent England and it was also great to be able to compete alongside the Commonwealth Championship races as these are what I am aspiring to win one day.

The race at Cockermouth went a lot better and I was very pleased with the result. I was 5th in a very tough age group and had a better race than the previous year. It was a really rainy day, but it was great to see my friends also have a good race.

Some of the money was also for me to compete in an International event in Murcia but unfortunately the race date has fallen in term time so I will be unable to compete this year. I looked for an alternative and decided to participate in some of the East Yorkshire Fell Races. With a minimum age of 17 I am only just old enough to be able to compete this year. In the first race a bishop Wilton I was the first lady home by some 2 minutes, which has given me a lot of confidence to push my self through to the senior level in future years. It has also proven that i have put my chest infection behind me and that I am ready to compete at the top level again.

During this forthcoming year I hope to achieve my first GB vest and it is with grants like the Jack Bloor Fund that I will be able to compete at more diverse events and hence improve.

Once again many thaks for your support.
